It\u2019s our mission to have WordCamp Johannesburg represent the passion, skill, and diversity of our community, and we want you to be a part of it!<\/p>\n<h3>WHAT WE\u2019RE LOOKING FOR<\/h3>\n<p>Don\u2019t submit a talk on what you think we want to hear; offer to speak on something that you are passionate about. Everybody has a unique WordPress story to tell, and we want to hear yours.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What are you uniquely qualified to speak about?<\/li>\n<li>Have you used WordPress in an interesting or innovative way?<\/li>\n<li>Was WordPress the foundation for creating something meaningful in your community?<\/li>\n<li>How has WordPress helped you grow your business?<\/li>\n<li>What was your experience updating your code for the latest WordPress release?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>TOPIC IDEAS<\/h3>\n<p>These topics are not meant to be prescriptive \u2014 they\u2019re rather there as a guide to help you think of something you want to talk about.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workshops for beginners<\/li>\n<li>Workshops for designers (or for developers wanting to learn more about design principles)<\/li>\n<li>Plugin\/theme development<\/li>\n<li>Setting up an online store (particularly with WooCommerce)<\/li>\n<li>Gutenberg (for developers and content writers)<\/li>\n<li>Workshops for running a WordPress business (remote work, managing an agency, scaling your business etc)<\/li>\n<li>Lessons from the Open Source Communities<\/li>\n<li>Marketing<\/li>\n<li>WordPress Integrations with Social Media or other third party tools.<\/li>\n<li>Creating automations with Zapier or other tools.<\/li>\n<li>Security<\/li>\n<li>Building with the WordPress REST API<\/li>\n<li>Coding and Development Best Practices<\/li>\n<li>And any other WordPress topic you&#8217;re passionate about<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>TALK FORMATS<\/h3>\n<p>We will again invite different formats of talks to be submitted. Please indicate in the Talk Format text box what format your topic is ideally suited for.\u00a0 Some examples:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Workshops are more practical and can be between 60-90 min in length.<\/li>\n<li>Talks are between 30-45 minutes usually with slides and a Q&amp;A afterwards.<\/li>\n<li>Lightning Talks can be between 10-15 minutes.
