Anchen Le Roux

Anchen le Roux is the lead developer and founder of Simply Digital Design. She has a passion for everything WordPress and loves helping clients elevate themselves through beautiful, functional websites and digital marketing strategies. Anchen is the author of The Content Creation Strategy Guide, advocate for green and simple living and occasionally has time to play the bass guitar.

Ruan Fourie

Founder and Editor of gevaaalik.com, Ruan started his career indigital by doing something stupid: Starting an Afrikaans WordPress site. Against the advice of plenty of people, gevaaalik.com has grown to one of South Africa’s leading Afrikaans men’s Entertainment and Lifestyle sites. Along the way Ruan taught himself a lot about content creation, SEO (especially for WordPress sites), Influencer Marketing, Social Media Marketing and Digital Marketing. With these skills Ruan has built a career in SEO and Digital Marketing working with King Price, Webfluential, Junk Mail Publishing and even in the international marketing with various online casino brands (online casino being one of the most competitive SEO fields in the world).

Roslyn Lavery

Roslyn is the Business Development Manager at PayFast, a leading online payment provider in South Africa. She has been working with WooCommerce since the day it was launched and continues to be a strong supporter. She has a love for continuously learning and improving with a special interest in e-commerce, payments, finance, SME’s and Startups. Adding some variation to her week, you will otherwise find her running, hiking, dancing or playing the tenor drum.

Mechiel Couvaras

Mechiel is a a Business Development Manager for WooCommerce. He  works with various ecommerce partners around the world. He’s been using WordPress since about 2008. He also co-founded a local WordPress Managed Hosting company, Mshini.com and is passionate about the WordPress community.

Naeem Mayet

Naeem is a digital strategist dabbling in websites, eCommerce and photography. He is the head of online at Autostyle.co.za which won 3 best Automotive website awards. he also freelance at DigitalBoutique.co.za assisting small to medium sized businesses to get their foot in the online space with affordable solutions and development.

Adam Oxford

Adam is a tech and development journalist with 20 years of experience. He began his career working for serious scientific journals, and quickly moved to writing about PlayStation games when he realised he could make a (sort of) living out of it. A veteran of tech blogs and publications, Adam worked for PC Gamer on and off for over 12 years, and edited PC Format in the last glory days of print. His work has appeared in Wired, Stuff, the Guardian, Linux Format, the Sunday Times (UK & South Africa), .net, Computer Arts, the Mail & Guardian and too many other gadget, games and geek magazines to mention. He’s also worked with several NGOs in the tech and development sector, and was a finalist in the Guardian International Development Journalist of the Year competition. He is a lead co-ordinator for the Johannesburg chapter of Hacks/Hackers. For some inexplicable reason, his day job is Editor-in-Chief and founder of htxt.africa*, South Africa’s third largest (and growing) technology news and features site. Which is built on WordPress. (*it’s not our fault the .africa gTLD hasn’t launched yet…)

Steve Stapelberg

Steve has been building websites since 2009 – CM4ALL platform. He discovered WordPress in 2013 and started building sites on a freelance basis. He’s been doing Website Building and Maintenance since 2014 for clients and started doing it full time earlier this year.

Brett Magill

Serial Entrepreneur

Brett is an entrepreneur, the owner and founder of Joburgbrew.com: Gauteng’s quirkiest online retailer of craft beer. He also owns and run Milled.co.za, an online media publication focusing on content appealing to the current generation of Africa’s Millennials. Besides that, he also manages a digital media company: Third Planet Media, focusing on paid media, social media and data analytics. He has always run his own business, and  believes it’s the best way he’ll be able to achieve his dreams and goals.

Jonathan Bossenger

Jonathan is a WordPress developer from Cape Town. Being self employed, he splits his time between his Divi extension business and working with great clients on Codeable  He has a passion for writing and sharing knowledge he and regularly blogs about WordPress, WordPress development or any other related topic, from hosting to freelance business practices. He lives in Durbanville with his wife and 2 boys. In his spare time you will find him training and teaching the art of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu or playing with whatever piece of software technology he wants to learn this week.

Seagyn Davis

Seagyn is the co-owner of a small digital agency called Digital Leap. They’ve been running since 2010 and build bespoke applications and websites (using either PHP or WordPress). He is a super active person that loves the outdoors, sport and innovating.

Hugh has been working with WordPress for a good few years now and has totally fallen in love with it. At Automattic he works on the WordPress community team where he assists and supports WordPress community organisers from all over the world.

Andrew Lima

Andrew runs his own company called Arctek Technologies which primarily focuses in WordPress website work/development. He is also a support engineer for Paid Memberships Pro, WP Google Maps and WP Live Chat.

Trisha Cornelius

Freelance web designer

Trisha Cornelius is a full-time mom and a part-time freelance web designer from the West Rand of Johannesburg. She is a geek who loves boardgames  and Terry Pratchett (and reading in general). Trisha is one of the co-organizers for the WP Johannesburg and WooCommmerce meetups.

Chris Louw

Caxton’s Digital manager

Chris has an immense passion for anything digital. Living in South Korea for 3 years sparked his interest in the connectedness of people, and the dissemination of information via the internet. In 2011 Chris started working at Moneyweb, where, as part of a 4 man team, he rolled out more than 40 community websites. Today this has grown to more than 100 online properties, under the Caxton brand. Managing this many properties is challenging, but the excitement and constant innovation is what drives Chris. Being a journalist at his core, Chris sees the use of new technologies as core to giving a voice to the voiceless. More than ever people now have the chance to be heard, telling stories that help us all understand one another better.
